How to install Xenon 2.0 on Raspberry Pi

Post by don331 »

Here are the setup to get Xenon Free 2.0 insstalled on a Raspberry Pi!

Background:
- Here I am using a Raspberry Pi 5, fully upgraded and patched.

- On the Pi, some of the drivers don't install (they do on Windows). You have to manually install them to get Xenon to work without error

- We are starting from a freshly re-imaged Pi using the latest Raspberry Pi Imager, HDMI monitor, keyboard/mouse plugged in

Pi Setup:
- if you have a fresh Pi install, you'll want to update the OS
- Update notifications come up in the Upper Right part of the main window bar. Install all the updates

Install the missing stuff:
- open up a console window. (you can make the window larger doing ctrl-shift +, hitting + as many times as you desire)
- enter the following (enter Y to any prompt)
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install kodi21-pvr-iptvsimple (this installs the simple PVR)
sudo apt-get install kodi21-inputstream-adaptive
sudo apt-get install kodi21-inputstream-ffmpegdirect
sudo apt-get install kodi21-inputstream-rtmp
sudo apt-get install kodi21-visualization-waveform

- Install Kodi and Diggz

- Now enter this to install Kodi
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt install kodi21

- Now start Kodi.it's under Sound and Video on the Menu (upper left corner screen)
(Y to any prompts)

- Now install the Diggz repository, Chef OMega Wizard, and finally Xenon Free 2.0

- When the Xenon install is done, it will force close kodi. So start it up again

- Now a LOT of updates will happen, and typically it will force close and you'll need
to restart Kodi

- Config and Finish

- Start Xenon, go the Add-ons / My Add-ons / Search
- Enter "the loop" in the search box
- Install "Media Sources - The Loop"
- click on Configure -and tick on "enable full meta for TMDB Lists"
- Then click on Open, and acknowledge the Loop welcome screen

- Now from the main screen, select Xenon Free / TMDB Lists
- Authorize the 4 links to Trakt
- close and restart kodi

- Go to TV Guide / Install Tv Guide (nothing happens0
- Go to TV Guide / Live TV Updater
- Select "Setup TV Guide Mega-US-UK-Recommended Version 1"
- close and restart kodi

- From Main screen select Xenon Free / Clean Up
- Run all the clean ups
- close and restart kodi

- From main screen, go to TV Guide
- The guide pops up
- Page down through ALL the channels to refresh the list
- It's refreshed when Fox news shows up as Channel 231, not 52
