How to automatic foreign language subtitles translation

Post by Russell »

When watching a movie in English and they start speaking in a foreign language, if I don't have subtitles enabled, I don't understand what they're saying.

Is there a setting to auto enable subtitles only when non-English is spoken?

I had to re-watch the ending of Bugonia with subtitles enabled, to understand what they were saying. It made all the difference. Perhaps it would have won at least one award if there was auto translation. 😃 😊 😀

I haven't seen an auto way about it.
It's all about proper source selecting -if there is a source with forced or full English subs.

What would I look for to identify such a source? Going forward, would/could there be a setting to prioritize "full or forced English subs?"

Usually "Forced" is mentioned in the title.

I'll keep an eye out. I don't think I've ever seen it in the title, but I have seen it in the subtitle settings.

I was unable to find "Forced" in source title.

However I was able to find several types of Forced in Subtitle settings while playing content.

I set one English Forced Subtitle as default for all media. But if the English -Forced Subtitle of the default is not exactly worded the same as title from a different source, it doesn't default to on. You have to manually select that Forced Subtitle for that different source.

FYI In Solo Mio at 1 hour 26min there are Forced English subtitles.
