Backup Issues

I am new to all this so apologise in advance. Yesterday I upgraded to Diggz AIO V 3.0 onto my firestick. All went fine until I wanted to restore my backup of my settings, movies etc. My backups showed on X-plore but not on the build/restore option on Diggz. On the clean install of Diggz I did a backup of just the clean install, that worked fine and the zip file was where it was meant to be. I looked on X-plore and the backup was there with my backup of my settings, movies etc. I copied over a later dated backup zip file in case previous one was corrupted but I still had the same results of it not showing up. I then tried reinstalling everything again but this time the clean backup did not appear either, although it was showing up in X-plore. Im totally lost and confused. I would be grateful for any help. Thanks in advance.

What backup are you talking about? Is it the build backup in the Chef wizard? If so, then its pointless to update the build if you are just going to restore the old build back on after the update.

Thank you for replying. Firstly, as you have just explained when I update in Chef Wizard it just restores the old build. This has always been where my problems begin. As I previously mentioned I have a Firestick 4k Max. I currently have Kodi V21.2 and X-plore. Owing to not being able to access the folders: android and data because of special permission of internal storage, no matter what I try. So, therefore, through Chef Wizard Maintenance I changed the location of backups to external Storage, Download and called the folder with a name of my choice, for example. I know it's not the most ideal workaround but it was the only way that I could get it to work, apart from when I wanted to update the build, as you explained. The backup I ideally want to do are of my settings, movie library etc.

Well, Kodi settings are simple enough to change after a backup, so I dont see the point, plus it will mess up the build after an update and return you to the stock Estuary skin if restored. The Kodi library could be backed up and restored right through Kodi settings, but this is the reason why everybody uses Trakt instead of Kodi library as it is always backed up online so you dont have to worry about it. Get a free Trakt account from trakt.tv would be the best option.
