If a device runs out of RAM, Kodi closes, so force stop everything, restart your device, open just Kodi and try it.

First off set your Screensaver to never. Second there are some stay alive apps for firestick that may work to keep the device from going to sleep. However remember the fire tv devices are designed to get firmware updates during sleep mode. This is an official one I believe.

First, your Fire TV will no longer receive software updates. Second, your Fire TV will no longer go to sleep. Third, you will have difficulty easily accessing portions of your Fire TV that are dependent on the default Home screen, like the Appstore app and the Settings area. All of these compromises are easily reverted, either permanently or temporarily, but they will be affecting your device while your custom launcher is working. At startup, the home screen loads up and then constantly freezes. I have cleared the cache and force stopped it. Any suggestions?

Try Settings/System/Video. Under Processing try turning OFF hardware acceleration. Ive seen people having issues with this on the Fire TV boxes for some reason, dunno.
