VPN problem [SOLVED]
VPN problem [SOLVED]
Running an Android 10 TV box, all working fine apart from some live TV channels only playing if I have my VPN enabled. Problem is that my VPN is slowing my connection speed and is then stopping 4K movies from loading and playing without freezing. Tested my connection speed and it is slower via the VPN. Will be asking my VPN provider for help but wondered if anyone else had had the same issue? Thanks

Re: VPN problem
Although my VPN issue is somewhat different from the original post. But because it is VPN related, I am posting it here so as not to crowd the forum space. (I have done multiple searches in the forum, but nothing that addresses the problem. So, please forgive me, if I should have done a new post.)
Here are the issues:
a) Instead of e-wasting it, I revived an old 1st gen ASUS Chromebox with LibreELEC Kodi - and was able to install Surfshark VPN as an addon (through the Zomboided tool & VPN manager - as per instructions given by Surfshark) and it was working fine. Because I really appreciate the fantastic job of the DIGGZ build - I experimented it on the LibreELEC. And the Diggz build installed fine, and replaced the LibreKODI, and can run fine. BUT as I tried to install Surfshark as an addon into the build, it just will not do it. I am able to install the required Zomboided tool & the open vpn manager as addons (through a USB jump drive; and the vpn files are in the jump drive also.) BUT the very last steps of installing the Surfshark vpn files - it then shows a pop up at the bottom stating the addon error - and it cannot see the vpn files in the jump drive.
b) The Zomboided tool and the Open vpn manager addons were running fine as addons - it will even let me do all the configurations to install the User designated info, and the info entered stays in the configuration page. It is only the final steps of going to the USB drive to install the actual vpn file - and it just can't see the files, and shows the '...error' message at the popup.
c) I tried to look for solution in Surfshark - but nothing... (Please note that the LibreKodi is NOT able to have a separate surfshark app - it can only accommodate vpn as an addon)
I would really appreciate any help to get the Surfshark vpn installed to it!

Re: VPN problem
Sorry, cant help. Dont know much about LibreELEC. Normally a VPN is installed on the device, not in Kodi. I assume your using Debrid, so whats the VPN for? For geoblocking? Or just cause it makes you feel better?DustyB wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 11:12 pm Although my VPN issue is somewhat different from the original post. Either way, It doesnt look like VPN manager supports Surfshark. You can direct questions to the Github page if you want.. https://github.com/Zomboided/service.vpn.manager/wiki
